ASA Entertainment Kicks off 2010 Action Sports Season with
ASA Big Air BMX Triples at Northern Illinois University
Tickets go on sale Friday, November 13 @ 10:00 a.m.
LOS ANGELES (November 12, 2009) – Action Sports event producer ASA Entertainment (ASA) kicks off its 2010 season with an ASA Big Air BMX Triples (Triples) event at Northern Illinois University’s (NIU) Convocation Center in DeKalb, Illinois. On March 20th, the top men in freestyle BMX will take on the challenge of the 180-foot long course consisting of a 25-foot high drop-in ramp, two 25-foot wide jumps and a course-ending quarter-pipe, all while grabbing ‘big air’ to perform their flips, flairs, whips and spins for the event title.
Athletes displaying their talents with great success at previous Triples events have included: two-time 2009 Triples event champion (Minneapolis and Orange County Fair) Ryan Guettler (Queensland, Australia), 2009 Chicago Triples event champion T.J. Ellis (Moreno Valley, California), Addison, Illinois’ Koji Kraft, and freestyle BMX stars Cory Nastazio (Flushing, New York), Rob Darden (Greenville, North Carolina) and Mike Spinner (Oceanside, New York). The head-to-head, single elimination format stretches the athletic limits of the competitors and brings the fans to the edge of their seats in suspense-filled anticipation of the outcome.
All the excitement begins Friday, March 20, at 7:30 pm. Tickets for the ASA Big Air BMX Triples go on sale this Friday, November 13, starting at 10:00 a.m. Prices ranges from $37.00 for reserved floor seats to $22.00 for upper bowl seating. NIU students will receive a $4.00 discount with a valid NIU OneCard. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, www.ticketmaster.com, by phone at 800 745 3000, or at the NIU Convocation Center Box Office located at 1525 W. Lincoln Highway in DeKalb. |

LANDS IN CHICAGO ON DECEMBER 12
HBO BOXING AFTER DARK TO TELEVISE HIGHLY-
ANTICIPATED REMATCH AT THE UIC PAVILION
PLUS VICTOR ORTIZ RETURNS AGAINST ANTONIO DIAZ
CHICAGO (November 5) – The fans demanded it and so did the fighters, so on Saturday, December 12, one of 2009’s most exciting fights gets an encore, as Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz meets up with Paulie “Magic Man” Malignaggi once again, this time on neutral territory at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois in a 12 round rematch of their August 22, 2009 battle. HBO Boxing After Dark will televise the bout along with a co-main event featuring the return of top junior welterweight contender “Vicious” Victor Ortiz in a pivotal 10 round matchup against the always dangerous contender Antonio Diaz.
“I enjoyed beating Malignaggi the first time and I’m more than willing to do it again,” said Diaz, who scored a hard-fought 12 round unanimous decision win over Malignaggi in their first fight on August 22. “This time though, I’m looking for the knockout so I don’t have to hear his mouth anymore.”
“The public demanded this rematch and I am looking forward to fighting Diaz for the second time,” said Paulie Malignaggi. “This time I’m going to get the win on my record not just from the boxing community and the fans.” |
